Proofing
|
|
The process of verifying the accuracy of a print job before the application is printed. Proofing can take many forms depending on the processes used for producing a print project. Often, a facsimile, or proof, of the finished piece is constructed using the type of paper selected for the application. The proof shows the text and graphics in the positions in which they will appear and includes notations for specific instructions concerning print output and finishing. Using the proof as a guide, the client verifies the accuracy of the print project prior to granting approval for the application to proceed to the output stage of production.
