Distributed Digital Printing
|
|
A method of producing widely circulated print projects, such as periodicals, in which regional printing centers are used to print and distribute a specific version of the application. Electronic file transfer allows document files to be sent anywhere in the world to be printed near the location where the print application is needed. For example, a large, nationwide insurer of automobiles may issue a magazine periodically that contains various articles of interest. Digital technology allows the organization to print regional or local variations of the periodical with articles pertaining to insurance statistics, key vacation sites, road construction, and so on that are unique for each region or locale
