Static Print Application
|
|
The simplest type of digitally printed application. Unlike variable data publishing in which the documents in a print run are all different from one another, every piece of a static application is identical. Digital printing equipment is not necessary for printing static documents; however, very small print runs are expensive when using conventional printing processes because the prepress and makeready charges are the same regardless of the quantity printed. It is only when the quantity increases that the price per piece decreases. When using digital equipment for printing small quantity static applications, the price per piece is the same regardless if one piece or one-thousand pieces are output.
