Yellowing
Refers to the physical changes that occur in some types of paper over time. Many paper varieties change in appearance because of prolonged exposure to light, heat, or moisture. Papers with an acidic base tend to become yellow and brittle over time. Certainly everyone has seen an old newspaper with these effects. Paper varieties with a neutral pH or an alkaline base tend to prevent deterioration caused by environmental conditions.
