A term used within the printing industry (and many other industry segments) that describes a supplementary or separate cost added to the price of a print application for special options or requested services that are not included in the base price of the job. For example, a customer may request a quotation from a print provider that includes a per thousand price for an unfolded brochure and the additional per thousand charge for folding the application. The folding charge is shown as an upcharge that is added to the per thousand base price.
