Smoothness

A measure of the surface characteristics of paper. The flatter or more even the surface, the higher the level of smoothness. The manner in which the paper receives the ink is affected by the smoothness of the surface. With a smoother surface, the paper stock can provide a fully shaped ink dot resulting in sharp, high quality images.
