Smooth Finish
A type of paper finish that has a very smooth feel and appearance. A smooth finish is achieved during the papermaking process by a series of rollers that press the paper to make it flat and even. The process of pressing and smoothing the paper is known as calendering. A smooth finish is an extremely important for digital printing, especially when printing with electrophotographic processes because the toner must lay flat on the paper to achieve the best results.
