Parchment Finish
|
|
A type of paper finish that has an antique appearance and provides printed pieces with the look of an historic document. The parchment effect is achieved with sulfuric acid that is washed over the paper and is then neutralized quickly to stop the affects of the acid on the paper. The process melts the outer paper fibers, which fill the voids in the remaining areas of the paper. A parchment finish is very durable and it is grease resistant.
