Network Job Transfer
A means of delivering specifications and content for print jobs electronically. There are several options available for transferring stored files to a service bureau or directly to the print provider. Transferring files electronically via a broadband Internet connection is a common method of transferring files. The requirement with this method is that both the customer and print provider must have a high speed connection and plenty of server disk space to store the files. A subscription with a commercial electronic data transmission provider can also be used if both the customer and print provider subscribe to the same service. Dedicated lines are provided that make the file transfer easy and the dedicated lines are much more secure than a standard Internet connection. If electronic transfer of data is not possible, files can be copied to removable media and then physically shipped to the print provider.
