Infrared
|
|
A portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, or light spectrum. The wavelengths of infrared are longer than visible light wavelengths, but they are shorter than microwaves. Infrared is composed of a wide range of wavelengths categorized as near infrared, middle infrared, and far infrared. The printing industry relies on infrared wavelengths for imaging printing plates digitally, with the use of infrared lasers.
