Electrophotography
|
|
A plateless printing technology that uses an electric charge to produce an image on a photoconductive surface. It is common feature for electrophotographic equipment to have the ability to print different data on every printed impression. For example, every page of a book can be printed in a single production run using a digital press or desktop printer using electrophotography. Electrophotographic equipment can produce booklets and manuals at high speeds. Four-color or hi-fi color projects can be produced directly from the original artwork or from an existing digital file. The two types of electrophotography processes are xerography and laser printing.
