Diode Pumped Solid State UV Laser
|
|
A type of offset plate laser imaging device that emits an ultraviolet laser beam at 355 nanometers. The laser is high-powered and very expensive, but it can be used with inexpensive conventional plates. The lower cost of using conventional plates (compared to the high cost of using visible light or thermal plates that are necessary with several other types of laser imaging systems) can pay for the added expense of the laser within a reasonable time, which makes it very popular with lower volume printers because it lasts many years with limited use.
