Digital Ink
|
|
A term that is used to collectively reference the wide variety of pigmented powders and liquids used for digital printing processes. The most widely used digital inks are dry and liquid toners for electrophotographic and ink-jet processes. These technologies are used much more often than processes such as magnetography, thermal transfer, or dye sublimation. Toner-based technology, in all of its forms, dominates the digital printing industry and is predicted to remain among the most popular digital ink technologies for years to come.
