Ablation Plate
A type of plate used for computer-to-plate systems in which a residue forms on the plate during laser imaging. The residue is formed from the areas of the plate emulsion that are ablated (removed) during imaging. The residue must be washed from the surface of the plate before it can be used at the press for printing. Ablation plates are the dominant CTP plate type.
